Violet Gibson premieres at DIFF 2020
The story of Violet Gibson, played by Olwen Fouéré premiered at DIFF on the 6th of march 2020 and was voted as the top films to catch at the festival by The Journal. In the film, I play the role of Nurse Clarke; a nurse that sympathized with Ms Gibson in her time at Northampton Hospital for Mental diseases.
The film tells the true story of the Irish woman who shot Mussolini. Barrie Dowdall, Siobhan Lynam & Kevin de la Isla O'Neill's documentary is about Violet Gibson, daughter of the Lord Chancellor to Ireland, who shot the dictator at point-blank range as she faced a fascist mob in Rome in 1926. The film looks at how she almost changed the course of history and the personal price she paid.
